In short, this simple phrase sums up why we do House Churches. But sharing your life with whom?
The Bible has a ton of "one another" commands to those who follow Jesus. Things like love one another, bear one another’s burdens, and forgive one another. We believe that it is impossible to accomplish all of these in a large gathering setting. We also believe that it is impossible to get connected and get to know people in a large gathering setting. For this reason House Church’s exist to provide that close group of family and friends that will love, encourage, and grow together.
As followers of Jesus we want to impact our city and our neighborhoods. We believe that a relationship with God is available to anyone. For this reason we want to share the gospel with our larger community. We want to let others know about the freedom, life, and intimacy available in a relationship with God. We want to share what we have been given with our neighbors. Jesus was not selfish and He was no respecter of persons. Why should we be any different? Jesus said, "If you love only those that love you, what good is that? Everyone does that." We want to love those different from us.
We want to provide an opportunity to explore our new space together and get a feel for what to expect week to week. For this reason we will be setting up together and participating in a trial run.
